Stephanie de Barros was born in France but grew up in Brazil. Dividing part of her life between two countries and cultures, Stephanie began to travel at a very young age, which allowed her to be exposed to the beauty of our planet and its fragile wildlife.

While pursuing her career as a research scientist in Los Angeles, California, Stephanie continues to explore her personal relationship with the environment; by capturing traces of human activity in remote areas of the world, creating still life experiments or bodyscapes, her photographs allow her to question her personal footprint on the planet, and invite the viewers to reflect about their own connection with the environment.
